IMPACT OF GREEN WATER CREDITS ON EROSION CONTROL

Intense erosion processes are widespread in the Mediterranean region. Monitoring erosion is often done at very detailed level encompassing only small plots or fields. On the other spectrum are satellites used, but here the detection level is lacking detail to be useful for intervention measures. HiView has used Flying Sensors (drones, uav) to detect erosion in the Segura Basin in South-Eastern Spain. Sensors in the visible spectrum and near-infrared were used. The project concluded that by combining various information sources all collected by Flying Sensor are very effective to monitor erosion. Moreover, the impact of erosion control measures could be detected at a very high level of accuracy.

With this project HiView has contributed to assess erosion and the effectiveness of erosion control measures by using ultra-high resolution imagery based on Flying Sensors.
