Forest monitoring at a teak plantation in Ghana

In November 2018, HiView has conducted monitoring flights & processing at the teak plantation at Akumadan, Ghana, that is managed by Form Ghana / Form International.

Different purposes were at stake. NIR images have been captured for monitoring the teak health condition by processing NDVI maps. RGB images have been captured for counting numbers of crowns (trees) and assessing biomass. Also, based on the RGB images DEMs have been processed to assess the elevation of land that is planned to be planted as teak forest in the near future.
