In 2016 and 2017 HiView has executed hundreds of Flying Sensor (drone, uav) flights above potato and wheat fields. This was done in different provinces of the Netherlands: Zeeland, Noord-Brabant, Zuid-Holland, Noord-Holland, Flevoland, Friesland. In cooperation with the French company Airinov an advisory service is offered to the farmers that have often subscribed with the mediation of extension organizations like CZAW and Pars.
Flying Sensors add to precision farming in the way that location specific information on the crops status is given through NDVI (Normalized Differential Vegetation Index) mapping. Moreover, Airinov delivers taskmaps (taakkaarten) that fit to the farmer`s machinery for precision agriculture.
With this project HiView has contributed to precision farming that leads to sustainable and responsible agricultural practices based on Flying Sensors’ information.
